Registration Step-by-Step

Registration is simple and takes only a matter of minutes. Registration is open to individuals who are 18 years or older. To begin the sign up process, click on the "Register" link at the top of this page. Next, fill in the requested information. Failure to provide all required information will result in an error. Having completed this step, click on the "Register" button at the bottom of the page. You will then be redirected to a confirmation page. An email will be sent to your registered e-mail address to confirm the creation of your account. Upon receipt, click the provided activation link.

Placing a Bid

If you would like to place a bid, you can do so quickly and easily by following these steps: (1) Log in to your account. If you have not registered, you can do so by clicking the "Register" link at the top of the page. (2) Go to the auction page where the desired item appears. (3) Near the bottom of the auction description page you will see a "Bidding Box." You can use the shortcut link to the bidding box (located just left of the auction details block) if you wish. (4) Enter your bid. Note: your bid cannot be lower than the required minimum bid. (5) Click the "Place Bid" button. (6) You will then be asked to confirm your bid. Once you have done so, your bid will be entered. If the process is successfully completed, you will receive a confirmation message. If your bid fails to outbid the current high bidder, you will be offered the option to place a higher bid.

automatic bidding

Our automatic bidding system makes bidding convenient so you don't have to keep coming back to re-bid every time someone places another bid.

How automatic bidding works

When you place a bid, you enter the maximum amount you're willing to pay for the item. The seller and other bidders don’t know your maximum bid.
We’ll place bids on your behalf using the automatic bid increment amount, which is based on the current high bid. We'll bid only as much as necessary to make sure that you remain the high bidder, or to meet the reserve price, up to your maximum amount.
If another bidder places the same maximum bid or higher, we’ll notify you so you can place another bid. Your maximum bid is kept confidential until it is exceeded by another bidder.

Example

  1. The current bid for an item is $50.00. John is the high bidder, and has placed a maximum bid of $52.00 on the item. His maximum bid is kept confidential from other members.

  2. Sarah views the item and places a maximum bid of $55.00. Sarah becomes the high bidder.

  3. John's bid is incremented to his maximum of $52.00. Sarah’s bid is now $52.50.

  4. We send John an email that he has been outbid. If he doesn’t raise his maximum bid, Sarah wins the item.

    Proxy Bidding
Proxy bidding can aid your chances of winning an auction and help avoid being outbid at the last moment. To place a proxy bid, enter the maximum price you are willing to pay for the item. If another user places a bid on the same auction, automatic bids will be placed on your behalf in accordance with your maximum bid amount. With proxy bidding you will pay the lowest possible price until someone else places a higher bid.

Buy It Now

Another way of bidding is "Buy It Now" auctions. Buy It Now prices are set by the seller. If you agree with this price, you can click the "Buy Now" button displayed on the auction details page. You will then be redirected to a confirmation page. The auction will end instantly as the item has been sold via Buy It Now.

Once you have successfully logged in (by directly entering User Name and Password on the home page OR by clicking the "Log In" icon near the top of the page), you will be redirected to the Members Area page. This page is divided into four tabs:

Bidding

On this page, you will be able to see the items on which you are currently bidding, the status of current bids, items you have won, and watched items. By clicking on the "Auction Watch" link, you may add keywords for auctions in which you may be interested. An email will be sent to your email address each time an auction containing a keyword in its name or description is submitted.

By clicking on the "View Details" link from the Won Items area, you will be able to view the details of the Seller and make contact with him in order to complete the sale.

Selling
(Qualified Users Only - See "How to Sell" below)

There are three areas available on this page. (1) "My Open Auctions" provides details of auctions you currently have open. If no bids are yet submitted on an Open Auction, you are able to edit the auction. (2) "My Closed Auctions" displays the auctions you submitted that are now closed. You may choose to edit, delete or re-list a Closed Auction. (3) "Sold Items" lists the items you have sold. By clicking on the "View Details" link, you will be redirected to a page where you will see the details of the Buyer. Note: An End of Auction Fee is generated for each sold item and a corresponding email sent to the Seller from the Site Administrator. The Seller must pay this fee in order to see the Buyer details.

Be sure and read the "Help" and "FAQ" topics (located top & bottom of each page). selling and bidding instructions are located there.

When you click on "Selling" on your log-in homepage, you will notice a "Read Sellers Manual" just below the selling button. It is in different formats. Select one your computer uses and read how to sell, step by step!

the "Members" icon (upper left quadrant of screen). Once in the Members
